Our Vision

The vision for Wisdom In Motion is to fuel the development, self-confidence and drive for our local youth while reducing drug use, risky behavior and the school to prison pipleline.

For African Americans born today, perhaps the greatest challenge to be faced is overcoming structural barriers to achieving upward economic mobility. African American children not only start behind their white peers economically, but they face obstacles that make it less likely to be able to catch up. Black households have only 10 cents in wealth for every dollar held by white households and earn 61% of the income the median white household earns in a year.

A study published by The National Mentoring Partnership reports young adults with mentors are 55% more likely to enroll in college, 78% more likely to volunteer regularly, and 130% more likely to hold leadership positions.

About Us

We believe with the right tools all of our youth can reach their full potential. Our goal is to provide our youth with the tools they need to succeed!

Our youth are creative, intelligent and inquisitive. Embracing their unique gifts allows them to grow and for our community to grow and benefit from their inclusion.

Surrounding our youth with support and community members that believe in them and their value is  a core focus of Wisdom In Motion.

Studies show that youth that are supported increase their chances of overcoming obstacles and sets them on a path for success in life
